Deep, shining red color with mineral aromas, tobacco, and a leathery texture. A strong evidence of calcareous soils, such as chalk. The tasting notes are very fresh on entry, with great volume and texture. The tannins are somewhat edgy and the finish is a long one.
The Zorzal Vineyards are located in Gualtallary, Tupungato, at 1350 meters above sea level. The soil is stony – sandy, very calcareous. In this area, the maturation of the grape oscillates between thermal amplitudes of 15 – 18 ° C difference between day and night.
Like the Zorzal Sauvignon Blanc, this Malbec is made based on three distinct harvest seasons. A cold maceration of 15 days is performed to intensify the fresh fruit and then fermented separately with indigenous yeasts with a maximum temperature of 28 ° C. These wines are aged in unique concrete egg- shaped barrels.
